Control Media Design was asked to work on this system after taking over another project for the builder. The client had been waiting for an installation company to finish the project which was based around Crestron hardware.

The first item worked on was the system head end, which is where all of the house-wide equipment is located. All existing equipment was removed from the rack and put aside for possible future use. A complete Crestron-based system was proposed - this included both audio and high-definition video distribution throughout the sprawling 20,000+ square foot residence.

A second rack was added for additional video sources and security equipment.

Audio / Video
We used Crestron's CNXRMCLV enhanced room solution in many areas, which allowed us to send video over CAT5e when rewiring wasn't an option. In areas where there were local sources / receivers, the Crestron room module was a way to feed the house-wide sources into the local systems.

Video sources include multiple high-definition DVR cable boxes and a ReQuest Multimedia DVD Server. Multiple Crestron wired or wireless touchpanels and remotes allow access to the sources.

Audio sources include a Crestron XM tuner, FM tuner and ReQuest Multimedia Music Servers.

Media Room
The client had a Media Room set up with three televisions (two smaller and one large screen), but had no real control capability. We added a Crestron TPMC-8X 8" wireless touchpanel with various control options. You can select any source on any of the three TVs at the same time, which is great for keeping an eye on sports or stocks on the smaller screens and watching a movie on the main screen.

Indoor Pool
The indoor pool area has two flat screen TVs - either of which can be controlled by an in-wall Crestron touchpanel or Crestron's "remote-on-a-rope", the WPR-48. Video and music sources from the main house system are all fed to the pool area via a small rack with electronics just for the pool zones.
